BCSTA has planned a provincial Advocacy Day in Victoria on October 19 to bring board chairs together with Members of the Legislative Assembly from every party as part of the annual meeting of board chairs.
Accommodations and Travel
- A link to book accommodations will be sent in the registration confirmation email.
- The room block closes on September 27.
- Book your flight and/or ferries as soon as possible.
- The legislature requires a valid ID to attend the question period.
Note:
- Provincial Council runs from October 20 - 21 at the Delta Vancouver Suites / SFU Wosk Centre.
- Plan according if you intend to attend PC following Advocacy Day.

Policies
Expenses
Travel & Expense Policy Exception:
- Travel costs are not normally covered for the Meeting of Board Chairs.
- BCSTA has made an exception for this event as it is being held separately from the Partner Liaison Meeting.
Expenses Covered by BCSTA:
- One night’s accommodation at the group rate of $239 + tax.
- Travel costs, parking costs, taxi, transit and meals not included in the program will be reimbursed per the BCSTA Travel & Expense policy.
District Costs:
- All incidental and additional costs not listed above.
General
- Attendees should not attend if they are feeling unwell.
- Health and Safety are of primary concern. Access the latest hotel brand standards before attending.
- Some delegates are sensitive to scented products. Please abstain from using scented products and perfumes while attending this event.
- Photos will be taken at this event. These photos may be used for BCSTA Flickr stream, publications and promotional materials.
- When visiting the BC legislature, visitors must pass through a security scanning station before entering the public galleries. Bags, backpacks, cameras, notepads, cell phones and all other electronic devices are not permitted and must be checked at the security station before entering. ID is required.
Cancellation/Refund Policy:
- You may cancel or transfer a registration to another person up until seven days prior to the event. Please login to your account to update. For any changes or cancellations after registration closing on Thursday, September 28, please contact Sara Hunter.
