BCSTA’s annual Trustee Academy provides attendees with premier professional development and networking opportunities. Held in the weeks following the 2026 trustee elections, this academy is designed to equip every board of education for the start of a new term with refined, more targeted professional development for the leaders shaping BC's public education system.

Whether a returning trustee beginning another term or a newly elected trustee, the Academy isn't a refresher; it's the essential knowledge every board needs at the start of a new term. Governance evolves, and the challenges facing public education evolve, and so must the skills trustees bring to the table to govern effectively. This is where that learning happens.

Professional development will be tailored to governance, education, and leadership, giving every trustee, regardless of tenure, the tools to serve their community with renewed confidence and skill.
